"Each child deserves a great teacher"
1. Training / workshop Kenyan teachers - Dutch primary school teachers
On average, 25 Dutch primary school teachers travel to Kenya for 12 days each year (February/March). They work together with around 175 Kenyan teachers. During this exchange the following could be addressed: knowledge exchange, awareness of "good teachers conduct" and how to plan higher use of the English language within and outside the classroom.
The exact topic for the workshop is determined in consultation with the District Education Officers.
2. Training / workshop Kenyan head teachers - Dutch primary school directors
On average, 25 Dutch directors of primary education travel to Kenya each year in October. They collaborate with about 200 head teachers. The previous year is being evaluated and, together, the next step in the previously stated individual or group needs is determined.
A topic example: "The head teacher is the centre of change".
3. Training Zone Education Officers
Two Dutch coaches provide insights to 14 Zone Education Officers on educational leadership, coaching and assistance. The main goal is to improve the Zone Officers' ability to advise the head teachers/schools. This training is held twice a year.
