After a very successful week of workshops during the midterms in Kwale, more teachers than ever attended the final celebration last February in Forest Lodge, Ukunda. A lot f friends were made this week and a lot is learned, especially about activating children in lessons. During the celebration 13 head teachers who followed the fourth T4T-course were graduated and also 4 coaches passes their exams, so that they can assist their colleagues in the next course.
The Dutch teachers enjoyed the motivation and big amount of participants in the workshops. They exchanged and discussed a lot of ideas to activate learners in CBC-lessons more. There were workshops for:
– teachers primary schools
– teachers secondary schools
– teachers special educational needs
– teachers pre-primary schools
– officers pre-primary schools (ecd)
The workshop with the ecd-officers resulted in a wonderful document to observe teachers. The officers discussed the rubrics and agreed on the levels. This could be an example for the whole country. I ‘m sure that would be very useful to share the document with important stakeholders in Nairobi. It saves a lot of effort to construct them on a national level.
September 2019 about 30 head teachers and specialists SNE and ECD will visit Kwale to continue the work of T4T. Also a new school leaders course will start, mainly led by Kenyan trainers. New coaches are to be trained as well.
