Preparations in the North and the South in full swing

From March 5th – 16th 36 Dutch educational professionals will come to Kenya to share knowledge with Kenyan colleagues in sub county Kinango. Teachers ECD, SNE, JSS and Primary education were preparing during two Saturdays to organize workshops on several schools. Teachers are invited by the director of the TSC to attend the workshops on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of March. They will receive a lunch, transfer fees and a certificate and will be invited to attend the Final Celebration on Saturday March 15th at the Teachers Training College in Kinango.
Director Francis Nzai made sevral visits to educational officials to inform them about Teachers4teachers and asked for permission to organize workshops for teachers. He was warmly welcomed by very enthusisastic people, which made him very proud. At that level too, people see the value of our work and support us in the organization.

Meanwhile Kenyan trainers of the Teacher4teachers School Leaders Course together with a board member and the director of T4T were selecting new candidates for the 7th course, starting next September. They have made a call and drawn up criteria and now the candidates are being interviewed (header photo). 27 candidates have responded and there are around 20 places. We will meet the ‘chosen ones’ on Sunday March 9th.
On the Saturday before that the participants of the 6th clourse will have their theoretical exam, So will the coachees. The following week each head teacher will get a practical assessment.
During the Final Celebration the head teachers who passes their exam wil be graduated.

Also in the Netherlands the preparation the last two Saturdays. They prepared for the workshops by getting knowledge about Kenyan education, the CBC and how to give demand driven workshops. They shared a lot energizers and working methods by practicing them together. The Dutch teachers, most of them for the first time, are looking forward to meet their Kenyan colleagues and are curious about what they will face.
