In a melancholic mood, but very satisfied about their experience and contribution to the workshops in Kenya, the T4T head teachers and teachers came together in Amsterdam. It was really a reunion of friends. The only ones missing were their Kenyan colleagues. They have such wonderful memories in becoming friends and sharing the knowledge about the pyramid of learning connected to the TPAD and the coaching approach along the steps of the stool of confidence.
Everybody met, connected and learnt. It is like Alex Ate, HOD of a secondary school, commented a few days ago:
The introduction of the Heads of department for secondary school, forum added an all new taste of flavour in T4T. As a head of department I really learnt a lot especially on TPAD.
The conference at Kwale girls gave us an enlightenment of the purpose and objectives of TPAD. During the conference the standards of performance in the TPAD were discussed. The stool of confidence enlightened me on TPAD use.
Visiting schools added a lot of value. It helped teachers in my school change their attitudes towards TPAD as a tool of appraisal and development but nor witch hunt or harassment.
We look forward for better progress of this project especially the Heads of Department exchange program during September. Asante sana,( Thank you so much?)
The Dutch colleagues rated their own development and satisfaction also very high, e.g.
Added value for my work in the Netherlands: 8,9
Inspiration to stay active for T4T : 9,8
Motivation to join the program once more: 9,6
New participants
In the afternoon, very curious new participants for the February project with teachers followed the information of the Dutch board. Some of them already got permission of their school board to join T4T, but most of them have to try their best to convince
the selection committee that they are very competent. Everyone was enthusiastic and likes to go to Kenya. Off course they will be trained during two Saturdays about the Kenyan education system, the Kenyan structures, way of living, possibilities and ways of active learning, how to give a workshop and about the caoching approach to improve.
We are very sure this team will be as marvelous as the September team.
